Excellent Pupils
About the difficult fate of a childI will tell you now
How it is difficult to be a child
I just can’t find the words to describe it
I’m being told day and night
“Be serious and act like a grown-up”
I don’t know what to do
With the fragile soul of a child
Ha-ha-ha, choreography in the morning
Ga-ga-ga, music scales at dinnertime
Painting, figure skating
Chess, classical ballet
Fencing, football and embroidery
Saxophone and horseback riding
Neighbours and parents tell me
“Always be a good girl”
I’ll tell you a secret
I’m terribly in love
Not with a poet, nor with a dancer
But with a hooligan who’s ready to fight
He doesn’t want to be president
And he’s a terror to good students
But Shakespeare couldn’t even dream of
Those blue eyes
Toegther we will put dad on pointe
Ma-ma-ma we will make mum paint
Ba-ba-ba there are music scores for grandma
And we will teach grandpa to embroider
Choreography in the morning
Music scales at dinnertime
My whole life is like a timetable
And there is no Romeo in these plans, no, no
No, no, no, no, no
No, no, no
