This Year Too

Christmas has come this year too,
but there are people who still feel bad
and walk on the squares,
bickering for a piece of bread.
There’s the carousels, there’s the lights,
it is nicer as a kid
when I used to ride on a reindeer
among the stars, on hopes
that I lost a long time ago.
 
But it’s Christmas, it’s Christmas,
we feel good, we feel bad,
it’s the same every year,
stay here, don’t go away,
it’s Christmas.
 
Christmas has come this year too,
the world keeps spinning,
where’s the world going?
There’s the shop lights,
there’s lights everywhere.
It’s so beautiful, this feast
at the mall.
 
But Christmas has come this year too,
among problems and candies,
among troubles and puddings,1
among sacrifices and squandering.
People in the cold and people going to a warm place,
among hope and falsity,
it’s Christmas.
