Clear Water
Great-grandmother knitted it out with a threadGrandmother marked it with tears
A little makata* was hanginig on the wall
A makata with white swans
Here, cool water from the well
was running blue into the bowl
And probably there was a meridian
That was crossing my cradle
Clear water in the middle of the summer
Is woven into a thread of memory
In the clear water on the bowl's bottom
Faces of our loved ones live
When I was searching for my way
Like a cat that's strolling around by night
My mother cried at nights
With silver moon on her lashes
Times and trends pass
There's no more bowl nor water anymore
And only in the old cabinet
The swans dream of water
Clear water will give you health
I don't regret any moment
Clear water, white bowl
I fetched it from the well of life
In the gray shadow of a dream
Under the awning of lashes
On the way to eternity
Or to the end
I always came back here
Where a strand of light leads me
Clear water in the middle of the summer
Is woven into a thread of memory
In the clear water on the bowl's bottom
Faces of our loved ones live
Clear water will give you health
I don't regret any moment
Clear water, white bowl
I fetched it from the well of life
