The Pike's Teeth
I walk down to the stream when the day endsputting the silence on my hook, hunting the pike within myself
Like love and coughing and far too old debt
the pike can't be kept a secret anyway
The pike's teeth
point backwards
can as everyone and their grandma know
bite into you
drag you down
as the stream keeps on running in its own eternity
I love those who blaze and are excited time and again
and don't have to burn bridges all day long
They jump off, diving under the crossing of the bridge
gurgling the awesome pike song
The pike's teeth
point backwards
can as everyone and their grandma know
bite into you
drag you down
as the stream keeps on running in its own eternity
We bubble up, breaking
against the algae green secret of the stream
the surface tension
always makes the song get stuck
it allows for growth in the long run
and causes cheering on the other shore
The pike's teeth
point backwards
can as everyone and their grandma know
bite into you
drag you down
as the stream keeps on running in its own eternity
