Places, objects, shapes and doors
Today he burned the rest of her pictures and the fire warmed his hands. In his eyes the emptiness grew and grew.
He saw her inside of them,
a clear shape of her mouth
that burned his lips and gave him pain.
Today he burned that last letter of hers and the fire warmed his face
and in his heart the mountain grew and grew.
He climbed to the top
and jumped down the frozen moss,
but he heard some noise.
Nothing happens, the wind howls, every step gets him closer.
In his goblet a white star of truth shines
trapped in glass,
so instead of crying he sings loudly
until his lungs explode.
Today he burned the last bridge and the fire blazed up.
He burned his eyelids and darkened his eyebrows with henna.
He got blind,
so a no-one who had died inside of him
keeps silent like Tiresias.
Today he burned the rest of her pictures and the fire warmed his hands.
He kept silent when throwing away the ashes
that fizzled out.
Only his mind mocked him with
places, objects, shapes and doors,
that no fire was able to burn down.
This pain will linger forever like a tooth pain.
Only his mind mocked him with
places, objects, shapes and doors,
that no fire was able to burn down.
This pain will linger forever like a tooth pain…
