Should any man come from afar
Should any man come from afarwith a language
that perhaps enclosed
sounds,
with the neighing
of the mare
or
the peeping
of the young
blackbird
or
as well, like the screeching of a saw
cutting into pieces everything around -
Should any man from afar
come erring like a dog
or
perhaps, like a rat
and it is winter-time,
if so, give him warm clothes,
he might also have fire under his soles
( he is perhaps riding a meteor )
if so, do not go scolding him,
if your pierced carpet starts screaming -
A foreigner always bears
his Motherland in his arms,
like a waif..
For her he is maybe
just looking for a grave.
